Peter Antonelli
Adjunct Assistant Professor of Health Policy


Peter Antonelli is a Senior Communication Designer and Project Leader at IDEO, where he balances human-centered insights with resonant visual language to create emotive and meaningful relationships between people and brands in both New York and San Francisco. In conjunction with his work at IDEO, Antonelli has been the Principal at his own brand solutions company, Antonelli Design, since 2001. Prior to his position at IDEO, Antonelli served as the senior designer and art director for Forty Forty where his responsibilities included brands strategy, art direction, and the implementation of brand guidelines for established and emerging brands. Antonelli was also the designer and art director at CF Napa where he managed multiple design projects in the wine and spirit industry.

Antonelli has received much recognition for his work in brand communication design by the American Graphic Design, the Spark Awards, the Core 77 Design Awards, and more. As well, he’s received recognition at events like the California Design Biennial, Communication Arts Design Annual, and the Step 100 Design Annual. Antonelli is part of such design associations as the San Francisco Chapter of AIGA, The Designers Accord, and SEGD.

Antonelli obtained his B.A. in Visual Communication from San Francisco State University. He also studied Media Studies in the Department of Communication at University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
