Thad Calabrese
Assistant Professor of Public and Nonprofit Financial Management

Thad Calabrese recently joined NYU Wagner as an Assistant Professor of Public and Nonprofit Financial Management. His research and teaching focus on not-for-profit and government accounting and finance. Prior to entering academia, Prof. Calabrese worked as a financial consultant with nonprofit organizations, as well as in the revenue forecasting unit of the New York City Office of Management and Budget. He has published original research in public finance, public administration, not-for-profit, and accounting journals. He has also co-authored two textbooks: Accounting Fundamentals for Health Care Management, 2nd Edition (with Steven Finkler and David Ward), and Financial Management for Public, Health, and Not-for-Profit Organizations, 4th Edition (with Steven Finkler, Robert Purtell, and Daniel Smith). Prof. Calabrese currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Association for Budgeting and Financial Management (ABFM). He has a Ph.D. from NYU Wagner and has served on the faculty of the School of Public Affairs at Baruch College of the City University of New York.
