Edward Sermier
Adjunct Associate Professor of Public Administration

Since April 2009, Ed Sermier has served as Director, National Customized Services for the Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF). He developed a "Financial Toolkit for Nonprofit Executives and Board Members" which he is now selling as well as leading the more complex consulting assignments throughout the United States.

Mr. Sermier retired on September 30, 2008 from his position as Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and Director of Program Evaluation at Carnegie Corporation of New York (CCNY). CCNY is a private foundation with $3 billion in assets. It was founded by Andrew Carnegie in 1911.

Mr. Sermier has also served as Chief Financial Officer of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra; Deputy Director in the Mayor's Office of Operations for Mayor David Dinkins; Director of Strategic Planning and Capital Budgeting for the New York City Transit Authority; Director of Special Education for the New York City Board of Education; and Budget Director for the New York City Board of Education.

He holds a Masters in Business Administration degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in mathematics from Manhattan College.

He also currently teaches two courses in the School of Public Affairs at Baruch College where serves he as President of the Executives On Campus (EOC) organization. The EOC program has approximately 200 executives from the for-profit and non-profit sectors who volunteer their time to provide mentoring and other services to Baruch students.
