Jo Ivey Boufford, M.D., Wagner Professor of Public Service, Health Policy and Management, and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at NYU Medical School, has been elected as the next foreign secretary of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies. In this position, Professor Boufford will serve as a senior adviser on international matters to the IOM president and Executive Council and as liaison to foreign academies of medicine and science. The Wagner Alumni Association (WAA) Board has taken an active role energizing alumni involvement and interest with what’s going on at Wagner. As Wagner continues to grow, WAA recognizes the importance of keeping alumni connected and has organized a series of networking happy hours. The goal of these and other activities is to help alumni stay informed, develop new skills, and keep in touch with the Wagner community. Members of the Friends of Wagner and the Dean’s Circle donor societies received a special invite to a VIP reception featuring Bob Shrum, renowned political strategist and recent addition to the NYU Wagner faculty. At this intimate reception, Mr. Shrum analyzed President Bush’s State of the Union Address through a dynamic lecture. The NYU Office of Government and Community Relations will lead a team of deans, vice presidents, faculty, students and alumni to Albany for the annual "NYU in Albany Day" on February 28th. The event kicks off the University's 2006 New York State Legislative Lobbying Campaign and provides an opportunity to meet with elected officials and discuss the issues that are important to the University, including increased financial aid and special programs to help at-risk students. President John Sexton will also host a special reception that attracts legislators and staff from across the state, as well as Albany-area alumni and friends. Romain Fravien (MPA '03) is a Budget Analyst for the NYC Office of Management and Budget Administration of Justice Taskforce. As an expense analyst, Romain who oversees the budgets for the five District Attorneys of NYC and the Special Narcotics Prosecutor. Romain also oversees a small portion of the Police Department's budget dealing with traffic enforcement and construction grants.
Jessica Goldberg (MPA '99) is the Assistant Director of Development for Gilda's Club Worldwide Development in New York. Working with the 27 North American Gilda's Clubs to assist them with all aspects of operating in a non-profit; including fundraising, outreach, communication, and non-profit basics. The main goals of Jessica’s job are board building, and fundraising.
Roger Goodman (MPA '03) is an Analyst for Moody's Investors Service dealing with Higher Education & Healthcare in Boston, MA. Roger looks at credit analysis of colleges and other non-profits seeking to borrow funds through a public bond offering.

Lisa (Matus) Grossman (MPA '99) will be rejoining MDRC as a Research and Operations Associate in the Welfare and Barriers to Employment policy area. Lisa’s focus will be in site development and implementation research for a new federal demonstration project. The project aims to test several new strategies and policy changes designed to help youth with disabilities access employment and education opportunities.
Oma S. Holloway (MPA '93) is the Director of Family Dynamics, the Bedford-Stuyvesant/Bushwick arm of the citywide SCO Family of Services, a multi-functional social service organization. Family Dynamics counsels families in these neighborhoods and in some cases prevent the Administration of Childhood Service (ACS) from breaking families up.
Allison Kestenbaum (MPA '03) is a Planning Associate for UJA - Federation of New York. As part of the Caring Commission, Allison also works on planning and allocation/grantmaking, and program development.

The company serves as a real estate and urban planning consultant to developers, investors and municipalities. Richard Levy (MPA '98) is a Research Analyst for the National Multi-Housing Council Research in Washington, DC. Richard analyzes and compiles government and industry data for company reports.
