Third Annual Alumni of Color Reception: Feb. 17, 2010
Alumni are invited to join Dean Schall, ALAS, APASA, BSA, and WISS at the Third Annual Alumni of Color Reception on Wednesday, February 17th from 6:30-8pm.  The event will be held in the Rudin Forum at the Puck Building, 295 Lafayette Street.  RSVP online here.

NYU Wagner's Irshad Manji featured on MSNBC
One year after the inauguration of America's first African-American president, MSNBC presented "Hope and Fear in Obama's America: 2010" on Monday, January 18, a lively, extended discussion on race held at Texas Southern State University with national thought leaders, including NYU Wagner Visiting Scholar Irshad Manji, director of the Moral Courage Project. Tune in Manji's comments or offer your own.

Share your opinions about negotiation with the Office of Career Services in a brief survey
Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University is conducting a survey on behalf of a consortium of public policy schools on graduate student and alumni attitudes towards improving negotiation skills. Results will be used to inform curriculum planning and student advising at all schools. We invite you to assist us in helping them with this effort by taking their 5-minute online survey.

Alumni are cordially invited to represent their organizations and companies at the discounted "alumni rate" at the 2010 Public Service Career Expo, co-sponsored by NYU Wagner and four other nationally prominent Public Policy Institutions from across the US. The Expo is a great opportunity to connect with interested and qualified individuals, while raising your organization’s profile among industry peers.

Alumni In Action - Public Service Spotlight

Several alumni work for organizations that have been instrumental to the relief efforts in Haiti since the earthquake hit on January 12, 2010. Two alums, Sharad Aggarwal (MPA 2008) and Ellen O’Connell (MPA 1990) recently shared about the efforts their organizations are undertaking.  Read more.

Did You Know...?


Frank Bianchi (MPA '84) has been promoted to executive vice president of client services with Niteo Partners. Congratulations, Frank. 

Jennifer Maulsby (MPA '01) has developed a new organization called Socks'n Undies, a program that collects and distributes undergarments and toiletries to men, women, and children who are homeless.  Learn more here.

Constantine Samaras (MPA '04) completed a post-doctoral fellowship with the Climate Decision Making Center at Carnegie Mellon University and is now an energy policy researcher with the RAND Corporation.

Dominique West (MPA '09) recently took a new position as Senior Research Associate at the NYC Department of Education.  Congratulations, Dominique.
