Victoria Bassetti

Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Administration

Victoria spent eight years working on Capitol Hill, including as legislative director for Senator John Edwards and as Chief Counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Antitrust and Consumer Rights.  She was closely involved in the examination of a number of consumer rights issues in a variety of fields including banking and credit law and telecommunications. During her time on the Hill, she was involved in drafting and passing many pieces of legislation including the Economic Espionage Act, bankruptcy and banking (Gramm-Leach-Bliley) law revisions, and the Safe Explosives Act.  She has spent the last 5 years working in the music business in the field of intellectual property and internet law.  She has been closely involved in designing music and software and legal strategies for products that implicate privacy and other consumer rights.  Victoria went to Columbia Law School and Harvard College.
