NYU Wagner's Office of Career Services is committed to providing employers with qualified, well-prepared candidates with experience in aspects of public and nonprofit management, health care management, urban planning, policy analysis, public finance, financial management, and managing international programs.
Students come to the Wagner Graduate School of Public Service with a wide variety of professional and educational backgrounds. All of them share a commitment to the promotion of broader social values through public service. While enrolled, most students are either working on a part-time or full-time basis, or have participated in one or more internships in their field of interest.
Graduates of the Wagner School have completed a rigorous academic program including courses in financial decision-making, policy analysis, management, economics, and statistical analysis -- with an overall emphasis on the development of critical thinking and communication skills. They have also successfully completed a one-year Capstone project, working as a consulting team to solve a public service problem for a client in government, a community-based nonprofit, or a healthcare organization.
