Description | Syllabi
Taught by a noted European economic expert, the course examines the nature of recent and ongoing global economic crises. What are the leading causes of turbulence in the global economy? Are there prospects for positive change? What role do emerging economic powers like China and India play? Students will begin with a ‘deep dive’ through past crises and how governments, businesses, and NGOs responded and then focus on recent and looming global economic problems, including the 2008 near-collapse of the financial system and the current fate of troubled European economies.
