Graduation

Diploma Application

Students may officially graduate in September, January or May. Students must apply to be considered for graduation by using Albert through NYUHome. Please check the Academic Calendar for the graduation application deadline for the semester in which you intend to graduate.

Doctoral students who wish to receive the Master of Philosophy degree must apply to be considered for graduation using the Academic Calendar schedule.

Students in dual degree programs must submit an application for each of the Schools in which they are enrolled.

Students who fail to meet specified deadlines will be unable to graduate on time and will have to wait for the following graduation period. It is best to apply for graduation and then, if the necessary requirements haven't been met, reapply for the next term.

Degree Check Sheet

The Registrar's office sends a degree check sheet to all students who applied for graduation. Students should review this check sheet for accuracy and/or missing degree requirements and contact their appropriate program assistant director for assistance.

Commencement/Convocation

New York University's Office of Commencement arranges the ceremonies for the All University Commencement held in May. Students applying to graduate as noted above will automatically receive information about the commencement ceremony. Questions on the All University Commencement should be directed to (212) 998-6868 or www.nyu.edu/commencement.

In addition, the Wagner School holds a separate convocation. Every student eligible for graduation will automatically be sent convocation information. For more information about the Wagner School ceremony, contact Wagner's Office of Special Events at (212) 998-7484 or see Convocation & Commencement Information.
