Overview

Wagner is committed to recruiting and supporting a diverse student body. Among the scholarships we offer are those for alumni of Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), as well as for students interested in working in or with underserved communities.

African Women Public Service Fellowship

  • Full tuition; $800/month stipend
  • MPA/Executive MPA
  • Full-time female student
  • Incoming fall start
  • Candidates should be a citizen and resident of an African country at the time of application.
  • Up to four fellowships for incoming full-time MPA/EMPA students
  • Awarded for the duration of the degree program
  • Funded by the Oprah Winfrey Foundation

Dr. Philip and Dr. Hannah Schorr Fellowship

  • $10,000/year ($5,000 per semester) over two years
  • All degrees/programs
  • For students committed to working in affordable housing and community development
  • Incoming fall start
  • Established and funded by Philip Schorr, Wagner '47, '74 (PhD)

Brodsky Family Fellowship

  • Awards range and are up to $15,264 (8 credits per semester) per academic year for full-time students
  • Awards range and are up to are $7,632 (4 credits per semester) per academic year for part-time students
  • Awarded to incoming full- and part-time MUP students
  • For students interested in housing policy, affordable housing, and urban development
  • Awarded for one year and renewable
  • Awarded in the fall and spring semesters
  • Established by Daniel Brodsky '70 and funded by the Daniel and Estrellita Brodsky Family Foundation

The HBCU and HSI Alumni Scholarship

  • Awards are $15,264 (8 credits per semester) per academic year for full-time students
  • Awards are $7,632 (4 credits per semester) per academic year for part-time students
  • Awarded to up to two incoming full- and part-time MPA/MUP/EMPA students who are alumni of Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)
  • Funded by Wagner

Doctoral Scholarships

Robert C. Weaver Scholarship

  • 100% tuition
  • Awarded every other year to one full-time doctoral student whose intent is to focus on problems affecting the African American community
  • Awarded for one year and renewable
  • Awarded in the Fall

St. Barnabas Doctoral Fellowship

  • $5,000/year
  • Awarded to one student in Wagner's Doctoral Program to encourage studies by members of underrepresented groups
  • Awarded for one year and renewable
  • Awarded in the Fall
  • Funded by St. Barnabas Hospital
