Sofia Veneris Agoritsas is a first year doctoral student in healthcare management. Sofia received her BA in Romance Languages at New York University’s College of Arts & Science and her MPA in Health Policy & Management at the NYU Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service. She completed a two year post graduate fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University Health System. Sofia has served as the administrator for Cardiothoracic Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center and as the Senior Administrative Director for The Smith Institute for Urology at North Shore LIJ Health System (NSLIJHS). Sofia currently serves as the Director for the Kidney & Pelvic Health Service Line at NSLIJHS. Her main research interests include the implications of misaligned incentives in healthcare delivery systems, how organizational structures improve clinical and organizational outcomes, and the development and implementation of evidenced-based management in healthcare settings.
