Rachel Ackoff

Interests: Environmentalism, Jewish studies

After a decade in the environmental movement, Rachel Ackoff is now a second-year student in the NYU Wagner/Skirball MPA-MA in Hebrew and Judaic Studies program, where she is a Truman Scholar, Wexner Fellow/Davidson Scholar, and Lisa Goldberg Fellow. Rachel hopes to emerge from the program with the skills she needs to help channel the energy of the Jewish people towards solving the climate crisis, and other challenges of our time, with actions inspired by the wisdom of the Jewish tradition. Previously, Rachel served as the Associate Washington Representative for the Sierra Club’s Labor and Trade Program, and as the Electoral Project Director at United States Student Association, the nation’s oldest, largest, and most diverse student organization.
