Alex Shapero
Interests: Professional development, Israel
Originally from Bangor, Maine, Alex Shapero is a second-year student in the NYU Wagner/Skirball MPA-MA in Hebrew and Judaic Studies program who was drawn to the program by a desire to bring more professional management styles to Jewish organizations. Alex graduated from Cornell University and then spent two years in Israel, volunteering on Project Otzma and studying at Yeshivat Hamivtar. He then spent three years at the Israel on Campus Coalition in Washington, DC, overseeing the creation of a new initiative to involve undergraduate fraternity and sorority students with Israel advocacy. At NYU, Alex is focusing his studies on creating outcome-oriented and employee-friendly workplaces. He is an editor of the Wagner Review, and serves as a mentor for the NY/NJ cohorts of Write on For Israel. He works as a mentor for Write-On for Israel and as a research assistant with the Berman Jewish Policy Archive, and he is studying at NYU as a Steinberg Fellow.
