Ariel Berkowicz
Interests: Jewish Education, American-Israeli relations, Israel advocacy, Jewish institutional engagement
Ariel Berkowicz is a second-year student in the NYU Wagner/Skirball MPA-MA in Hebrew and Judaic Studies program with a specialization in Management. Ariel is originally from Chicago, and prior to his studies at NYU he received a BS in Psychology from the University of Maryland, studied in Jerusalem at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies, and spent one year at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah. After two years of intensive Jewish studies, he knew the only place where he could get practical experience and excellent professional training, while immersing himself in a city with an abundance of exemplary nonprofits was at NYU in the MPA-MA program. The prospect of participating in the year-long, practical, real-world Capstone component of the MPA degree was the most exciting and enticing for Ariel. Ariel is the recipient of a Steinberg Fellowship and currently is the Content Manager at Jspace.com, a new online initiative that works to unify and bring together the Jewish world through events, news, and a variety of other services. Ariel believes that his study of management at NYU has enabled him to work in a more effective and successful way. When he finishes the program, Ariel hopes to work in an organization where he is serving both American and Israeli Jewish communities.
