Merav Fine

Interests: Young adult Jewish communities, Jewish communal development

Merav Fine has always had an active interest in community building in a Jewish context. As a BBYO alumna and a former Hillel Engagement associate, she is especially interested in the future of high school and college students in Jewish life. Merav graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a BA in Government and Politics. As a student she was actively involved in the Jewish community, and she eventually returned to campus to work as an Engagement Associate at Maryland Hillel. During her time at Hillel she had the opportunity to lead six Jewish immersion trips (including Taglit-Birthright Israel), worked with hundreds of Jewish Terps, and developed a unique Jewish leadership and community-building curriculum for her students. Originally from the New York area, Merav is glad to be back home and studying in the NYU Wagner/Skirball MPA-MA in Hebrew and Judaic Studies program. She is looking forward to being a part of such a vibrant, diverse, and professionally-oriented student community at Wagner, while also participating in enriching and rigorous study of Jewish history in the department of Hebrew and Judaic Studies. Merav is a first-year student and a Michel UJA-Federation FEREP (Federation Executive Recruitment and Education Program) scholar.
