Lani Hart

Interests: Philanthropy, capacity building, social entrepreneurship, professional development

Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Lani Hart is a currently a second-year student in the NYU Wagner/Skirball MPA-MA in Hebrew and Judaic Studies program, where she is pursuing a specialization in management and is the Communications Chair for Wagner Philanthropy. She is a Steinberg Fellow and a recipient of the Federation Executive Recruitment and Education Program (FEREP) scholarship. While in school, Lani interns at UJA-Federation of New York and is a SocialStart trainer for PresenTense. Lani chose the MPA-MA program because of its emphasis on public service and the wide range of opportunities for involvement. Prior to coming to NYU, Lani graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in Sociology, Jewish Studies and Hebrew. Following graduation, Lani worked as a fellow at PANIM: The Institute for Jewish Leadership and Values and most recently as the Assistant Director of Young Leadership at The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. In a professional role at Birthright Israel NEXT, she took more than 150 young adults to Israel on Taglit-Birthright Israel trips and engaged hundreds of alumni.
