MPA-Global MPH

Public Policy and Global Health Leadership

Wagner's MPA MPH dual degree program with NYU's College of Global Public, Global Health Leadership Concentration combines public service and public health in a global focus. The dual degree curriculum prepares students for leadership roles in community healthcare settings, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations in the United States and across the world.

Students in the program enroll full-time, taking courses within the MPA (33 credits) and MPH program (36 credits) concurrently and completing the dual degree program in three years. Students choose a specialization area within NYU Wagner's Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy program, or the Health Policy and Management program, and concentrate in Global Health Leadership within the MPH curriculum.

Advisement

An important aspect of the dual degree academic experience is the extensive, tailored, and coordinated advisement support from both schools. Students will work with advisors from both schools to carefully choose coursework that takes into consideration their unique academic and professional goals. The many sources of advisement that each school has to offer includes faculty advisors, offices of career services, program administrators, and peer advisors.

Students leave the dual degree program well supported and equipped with the frameworks and analytical skills that will serve them well in the complex and changing intersection of sectors and roles their careers may span.

Beyond the Classroom
Cross-Professional Series (XPS)

Open Society Institute's president, Aryeh Neier introduced by Professor Ellen Schall

This speaker series offers students in Wagner's Executive and Professional dual degree programs a unique opportunity to hear from leaders in fields and careers that span the sectors. The series is an intimate seminar-style experience with an accompanying reception where students are able to maximize opportunities to engage with colleagues across disciplines, and to enhance those important connections.

Admissions

Applicants are required to apply to NYU Wagner and NYU's College of Global Public Health separately. Once admitted to both, a student will qualify for the dual degree program.

All applicants to the MPH Global Health Leadership concentration must possess a prior graduate or professional degree of at least U.S. Master's level or above.  The only exception is for applicants to a dual degree program, who may apply holding a bachelor's degree.

Scholarships

Pursuing a graduate dual degree is an investment in the future and a serious commitment of time and money. All dual degree applicants are eligible to apply for scholarships and funding.
