NYU Wagner, 295 Lafayette Street, 2nd Floor, NYC
Rudin Family Forum for Civic Dialogue

JOIN US for a reception to launch the new book, Open Data Now - written by Senior Advisor to the GovLab, Joel Gurin - and to learn how free public data is creating new opportunities for innovators in New York and across the country. Refreshments will be served.

Beth Noveck, Founder and Director of the GovLab, will explain how the GovLab is promoting new approaches to government, technology, and civic engagement. Joel Gurin will describe how Open Data is driving innovation in the private and public sectors, and will preview the findings of the Open Data 500, the GovLab project to study companies that use Open Data as a key business resource.

We will also have a lightning round of short presentations from New York City companies that are building businesses, and helping the public, with Open Data on health, finance, and other areas. This is an evening to celebrate Open Data, learn about its power, and network with leaders of New York's growing Open Data movement. (Copies of Open Data Now will be available for purchase.)
