The Global Health Alliance of New York University is pleased to present the film Sons Of Lwala on Friday, February 13, 2009. Sons of Lwala follows the lives of two Kenyan brothers who have made their way to medical school in the United States from their small rural village, Lwala. While they pursue their studies they also take on the ambitious task of building a health clinic in Lwala. The village has had no access to medical care despite the high rates of HIV/AIDS and illness in the community.
Please join us for the film screening which will be followed by a discussion session with representatives from the Lwala Community Alliance which supports the clinic documented in the film. Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free. Donations will be accepted on behalf of the Lwala Community Alliance.
