At this special NYU Wagner/Accenture Breakfast Briefing, Ravitch, who was one of the key players who saved New York City from bankruptcy in the 1970s, will offer hard-won insight and advice on the decisions that government, labor, and business leaders must make to avoid a similar fate. The conversation will be facilitated by Elliot Sander, President and CEO of the HAKS Group and former CEO of the MTA.

Richard Ravitch has been chairman of the New York State Urban Development Corporation, chairman of HRH Construction Corporation, chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, chairman of the Bowery Savings Bank, lieutenant governor of the state of New York, and co-chair, with Paul Volcker, of the task force on the state budget crisis. His book, So Much to Do: A Full Life of Business, Politics, and Confronting Fiscal Crises, is out now. He lives in New York City.
