Ashley Fox
Adjunct Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Management

Ashley M. Fox, MA, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Evidence and Policy at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Spanning both international and domestic settings, her research focuses on the politics of health policy and the effects of policies on health outcomes, including not only policies targeted at health, but also broader social policies that may have indirect effects on health. Her research has examined global HIV/AIDS politics, policy and epidemiology including better specifying the role of what is often described as “political commitment” in explaining differences in countries’ policy responses to the disease.  Recently, her work has expanded into food and nutrition, the politics of health sector reform, and the relationship between unemployment policy and health. She has served as a consultant for the World Bank, UNICEF, and PATH.
