Program Assistant
Evian Patterson is a second-year Masters of Public Administration student at NYU Wagner, specializing in International Policy and Management. His particular research interests include public sector development, civil service reform, institutional strengthening and governance, and leadership development.
Prior to joining Wagner, Evian lived in Washington, DC, where he worked as a Program Specialist in the Center for Enterprise and Capacity Development at the Academy for Educational Development, managing USAID-sponsored professional and academic training programs for scholars from Egypt, Indonesia, and West Bank/Gaza.
With an academic background and interest in Middle Eastern studies and Islam, Evian traveled and lived in Cairo, Egypt where he studied Arabic on the William J. Fulbright Scholarship and worked closely with the Bi-National Fulbright Commission in Cairo, preparing Egyptian students for exchange programs in the United States.
Evian is a native of Durham, NC and received bachelor’s degrees in Religious Studies and Philosophy from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington.
