RCLA Faculty Director Addresses Government Leaders in Brazil
September 2010
As part of RCLA’s ongoing international teaching, research and training programs, RCLA Faculty Director Sonia Ospina was recently invited to Brazil’s National School of Public Administration, ENAP (Escola Nacional de Administração Pública), the prestigious training school for federal leaders located in the city of Brasilia.
Highlights of Dr. Ospina’s visit include:
• Delivering the keynote address in the inaugural session of a week-long Inter-American course on Evaluation of Social Programs for high-level evaluators in several Latin American countries;
• Offering an interactive lecture on public-private collaboration with approximately 120 young professionals entering civil service careers in Brazil; and
• Engaging in a series of structured conversations with ENAP’s faculty and program directors on RCLA’s approach to leadership development, on practice-based learning methodologies for public service training, and on the collective dimensions of leadership.
The visit was also an opportunity to explore key areas for collaboration between ENAP and RCLA at NYU Wagner to advance both organizations’ public service missions. RCLA partners with top public policy schools and leadership centers across the US and around the world on research, leadership development and teaching programs.
