Wagner Professor Jason Furman Testifies on Social Security Reform Before U.S Senate Subcommittee

Wagner Professor Jason Furman testified before the Subcommittee on Securities and Investment of the U.S Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. Furman's testimony, "The Financial Costs of Individual Accounts," outlines the potential costs and drawbacks to the proposed privatization of Social Security. "Establishing over 100 million voluntary individual accounts," writes Furman, "would complicate the system and be substantially less efficient than the current system."
