Ted Perlmutter

Adjunct Assocate Professor of Public Administration

Dr. Perlmutter is the Director of Information Technology and Knowledge Management in the Center for International Conflict Resolution (CICR) at Columbia University. At CICR, he is responsible for website coordination and database development, and has been involved in creation of the Religious Peacemaking Database project. Dr. Perlmutter has published numerous articles and book chapters on immigration, refugees, political parties and civil society. Most recent was "The Politics of Restriction: The Effect of Xenophobic Parties on Italian Immigration Policy and Germany Asylum Policy" in a USIP-sponsored research project and book entitled Shadows Over Europe: The Development and Impact of the Extreme Right in Europe. Dr. Perlmutter taught in the New York University Political Science Department as a Lecturer and an Assistant Professor between 1987 and 1992. He has been the recipient of a German Marshall Fund Grant for the Study of Germany and the Fulbright Commission Fellowship for Study in Italy for research on xenophobic politics in Europe from 1993 to 1995.
