NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate
While we cannot guarantee capacity for NYU Wagner students in NYU School of Professional Studies Schack Institute of Real Estate (NYU Schack)'s courses, you are welcome to request registration for an approved course.
Pre-Approved Schack Courses (all require URPL-GP 2639)
REAL1-GC 1060, The Development Process
REAL1-GC 3015, Affordable Housing Finance and Development
DEVE1-GC 2005, Public-Private Development
Wagner students who wish to take an elective at the NYU Schack must follow the guidelines below to request registration.
If the course you wish to take a course that is on the above pre-approved list, contact the Urban Planning Program Advisor, who will submit your approved request to NYU Schack. If the course is open, NYU Schack will provide registration permission numbers which the Urban Planning Program Advisor will forward to you.
With the exception of the Seminar in Community Development, NYU Schack generally starts accepting requests from non-Schack students several weeks prior to the beginning of each term (August for fall; January for spring; April for summer).
CORE-GP 1021, Financial Management, is a prerequisite for all Schack courses, and URPL-GP 2639, Real Estate Finance, is a prerequisite for most Schack courses. The Seminar in Community Development (REAL1-GC 3400) requires an application process, which is usually announced at information sessions held in late spring/early summer for the fall term.
