Sarah focuses on the use of cutting-edge information technologies in transportation communications, particularly the implementation of open data and social media programs. Before earning her MUP at NYU Wagner and MBA at NYU Polytechnic, Sarah studied science writing at Washington University in St. Louis. Sarah also serves as a Director-at-Large on the board of the Women’s Transportation Seminar.

  1. In 2011, the MTA eliminated two interborough bus routes which were a lifeline for wheelchair users in NYC: the B51 and B39. The B39 was reinstated a few years later, but it only runs until 9:00 p.m. (it was previously 24 hours) and the bus schedule has a bus coming every 30 minutes. This route serves a lot of people with disabilities and elderly. The MTA complains about Access-A-Ride being expensive, but they’re not really interested in looking at alternatives.
