Through hosting intermittent seminars and presentations, the Rudin Center updates the community on timely transportation happenings. An example of this approach is the Transportation Policymakers Breakfast.
In conjunction with the Council on Transportation, the Rudin Center regularly
sponsors forums and receptions that promote direct dialogue and debate with
the region’s transportation policymakers. Guests at past events have
included political leaders such as Senator Charles Schumer, Congressman Jerrold
Nadler, and Bronx Borough President Fernando Ferrer, as well as agency executives
like NYCDOT Commissioner Iris Weinshall, former NYSDOT Commissioner Joseph
Boardman, Long Island Railroad President,
Kenneth Bauer, NYC Transit President Larry Reuter, and former USDOT Deputy
Secretary Mortimer Downey.
