Executive Education Programs at Rudin:

  • NYCDOT Executive Leadership Training Program - Sponsored by the New York City Department of Transportation

This program offered by the Rudin Center has been tailored to address the leadership training needs of the NYC Department of Transportation. The program provides upper-level transportation leaders and managers who are designated for future leadership positions with the knowledge and tools to build and hone broad management skills as well as provide them with an understanding of the specific issues they will face in the transportation sector and in the region. A broad range of management and policy skills are essential to effective leadership in any field. Leaders play many roles in an organization, ranging from mentoring to building strategic teams, to managing conflict as well as developing and communicating a vision, or setting goals and objectives. They are also innovators who think creatively and constantly look for strategic insight and use it to generate new opportunities. The skills that are critical to effective leadership are first and foremost interpersonal and social skills. As more and more individuals are forecast to retire in the coming years, effectively training the next generation of transportation industry leaders becomes particularly urgent. The NYCDOT has recognized this challenge, and supports this executive leadership training program to prepare the next generation of the Department’s leadership.
