Students are highly encouraged to waive courses if they qualify under the relevant waiver policy.  Please carefully read each waiver policy on the Course Waiver page because the instructions may vary from course to course.

  • All waiver requests must be submitted before the start of your second semester, but should be submitted as soon as possible for the best course planning.
  • Core course waiver exams may only be taken once. If you do not pass a waiver exam, you must register for and complete the core course.
  • If you waive out of Statistics (CORE-GP-1011), you are required to demonstrate your proficiency with statistical software by either:

Completing PADM-GP 2902 Multiple Regression and Introduction to Econometrics
Passing the SPSS Proficiency Exam (NONCR-GP 938) [A review module, NONCR-GP 931 is available for those without prior knowledge of SPSS.]

Please visit the Statistical Software Proficiency page for more information on SPSS Proficiency.
