Schack Institute of Real Estate
Wagner students who wish to take a course at the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate that is not on the pre-approved list (below) should first obtain a copy of the syllabus from the course instructor and should then seek permission from the Urban Planning Program Director, Prof. Ingrid Ellen. CORE-GP 1021, Financial Management, is a prerequisite for all Schack courses, and URPL-GP 2639, Real Estate Finance, is a prerequisite for most Schack courses. The Seminar in Community Development (REAL1-GC 3400) requires an application process, which is usually announced at information sessions held in late spring/early summer for the fall term.
Once students have obtained permission from the Urban Planning Program Director, they should contact the Urban Planning Program Administrator, who will submit approved registration requests to Schack and request permission numbers.
Please note that, with the exception of the Seminar in Community Development, NYU Schack generally starts accepting requests from non-Schack students several weeks prior to the beginning of each term (August for fall; January for spring; April for summer).
