Annual Reception & Awards
Each year the Center honors outstanding contributions to the field of transportation policy and management. At the fall 2009 Annual Reception, Rudin was joined by Federal Transit Administrator Peter Rogoff in paying tribute to Mortimer L. Downey III, former Deputy Secretary at the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Over the years, the Center has recognized achievement in several categories at its Annual Awards. Past honorees include:

- Public Leader Award: Susan Kupferman, President of MTA Bridges and Tunnels
- Civic Leadership Award: Joan Byron, Director of the Sustainability and Environmental Justice Initiative of the Pratt Center for Community Development
- Public Servant Award: Raymond Sandiford, Chief Geotechnical Engineer of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey
- Lifetime Achievement Award: Robert Paaswell, Distinguished Professor of Civil Engineering (CCNY), Director of the University Transportation Research Center, Region II, and Director of the City University Institute for Urban Systems
