Degree Requirements
Credits required for graduation: 60
- Complete five Schoolwide Core Courses (Note: Students may choose to take the Urban Planning Core Course P11.2660, History & Theory of Urban Planning, in place of P11.1022, Introduction to Public Policy)
- Complete five Urban Planning Core Courses:
- P11.1603, Urban Planning, Development & Decision-Making (Fall/Spring)
- P11.1605, Land Use Law (Spring)
- P11.1620, Introduction to Urban Physical Design (Fall)
- P11.2608, Urban Economics (Spring)
(Prerequisite: P11.1018; pre- or co-requisite: P11.1011)
- P11.2660, History & Theory of Urban Planning (Fall)
(Note: Students may choose to take the School-Wide Core Course, P11.1022, Introduction to Public Policy, in place of this course)
- Choose a Specialized Elective Cluster or the International Specialization
- Complete Capstone
- Demonstrate Computer Proficiency
- Meet the Professional Experience Requirement (required only for students with two years or less of relevant work experience)
Please note that most Urban Planning Core courses are only offered once a year. You should consult the most recent current Course Schedule to determine if a given course is offered in a particular semester. Full-time Urban Planning students typically take two School-Wide Core and two Urban Planning Core courses in their first semester.
