Meryle Weinstein is a Research Scientist at IESP and is a doctoral candidate in Public Administration at the Wagner School of Public Service. Her recent work has included a longitudinal analysis of the small schools movement in New York City; the impact of Title I funding on student achievement and school spending, and the disparities in test scores across racial and ethnic groups in elementary and middle schools in New York State. Her current research interests are the role of the nonprofit and for-profit sectors in education and supplemental and compensatory education programs. Prior to coming to NYU, she worked in California as a researcher at the Institute for Jewish & Community Research, University of California at San Francisco, and the Bayview-Hunter’s Point Foundation.
