Quemuel “Q” Arroyo (MPA 2020) joined the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in 2021 as the organization's first agency-wide Chief Accessibility Officer. In this capacity, Arroyo leads the implementation of policies, initiatives, and programs that reimagine and advance accessibility throughout the organization.

📢 Health Equity Today: The Place Principle at NYU Wagner

On February 7, 2025, NYU Wagner hosted its annual Health Equity Today event, exploring how geographic location impacts healthcare access and health outcomes.

Moderated by Giovanney Mendoza, NYU Wagner Online MHA student, the panel featured Dr. Olubenga Ogedegbe, MD, MPH, Director of the Institute for Excellence in Health Equity at NYU Langone Health, and Dr. Lynn Mertz, PhD, MUP, Senior Strategic Policy Advisor for Global Thought Leadership – Health Equity at AARP.

The discussion examined how health disparities exist even within neighboring zip codes, affecting factors such as access to healthcare, nutritious food, prescriptions, and community resources.
