Kevin Petway is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Service in NYU's Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service. He is a mixed methods researcher whose research interests include personality measurement and survey development. Currently, Kevin is a User Experience Researcher at Facebook. Previously, he was an Associate Research Scientist with Educational Testing Service, where he designed and directed a series of qualitative and quantitative studies to better understand how to measure noncognitive skills in K12. He continued this work at Enrollment Management Association as a Senior Research Scientist, where he was the technical lead for research related to EMA's Character Programs. He is currently a User Experience Researcher at Facebook.
Kevin received his MA and PhD in Quantitative Psychology from the University of Southern California. His graduate work focused on the measurement of personality through the life span. While at USC, he also co-developed the Statistics Consultation Center within the Psychology department. The goal of this Center was to provide a formal way for students and faculty within Psychology to obtain the help they needed with statistics, research methods, and analysis programs (e.g., R, Stata). He also holds a BA in Environmental Sciences and Psychology from the University of Virginia.
