Wei Shi is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Service of NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Wei is also a PhD candidate at the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers University. Wei's research area is organizational communication with specific focuses on social networks, digital media, and organizational emergence. In her current project, Wei examines the communicative behaviors of nascent entrepreneurs in the digital media industry and their use of social networks for acquiring resources and garnering legitimacy.
Wei served on the IBM Human Resource Leadership Development Program for two years and she had User Research experience at Facebook. Wei holds a Master of Science in Intercultural Communication from University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Business English from South China Normal University.
