Digital Innovation Lab

Course Description

Advances in the capabilities of digital technology to organize, create, and share information combined with the pervasiveness of personal technology devices has opened up many new ways of solving public problems. This is a practical course that will help students gain the skills necessary to develop and refine a socially conscious digital innovation concept and bring it to fruition. Throughout the duration of the course, students will create a vision of how to solve a social problem using digital technology, conduct primary research on their intended users, and develop a pitch deck or clickable prototype to illustrate their product concept. This is an interactive course, and students will be presenting their in-progress work and giving and receiving feedback in nearly every session. The final pitch will feature guest critics who will provide feedback on product concepts. No prior experience in digital technology required to take this course.
