A Debate on Fiscal Policy and the Federal Budget
Presented by NYU Wagner Economics and Finance Association (WEFA) and The Wagner Policy Alliance (WPA)

Tuesday, December 3, 2013
6:30pm - 8:30pm
NYU Wagner, 295 Lafayette Street, 2nd Floor, NYC
Rudin Family Forum for Civic Dialogue

Please join WPA and WEFA for a discussion of the federal budget and fiscal policy. The event will feature two leading fiscal policy experts, Romina Boccia of the Heritage Foundation and Mark Schmitt of the Roosevelt Institute, and will be facilitated by NYU Wagner professor, Thad Calabrese.

The debate will explore questions such as: What are the fiscal challenges facing this country and how should we address them? How should we tackle challenges with entitlement programs? What should the nation's tax policy look like? What are the economic implications of different fiscal policies?
Panelists will discuss these issues in the context of the practical limitations imposed by the Congressional-Presidential gridlock, and what that means for any potential budget deal.
