DESCRIPTION:The struggle for access to justice for women,
girls, and people with diverse sexual orientations
and gender identities in Latin America is defined
by a 90% impunity rate and a structural failure to
protect those most vulnerable. Historically,
judicial systems have excluded these diverse
perspectives from the design of public policy,
resulting in persistent revictimization and a lack
of institutional accountability. In response to
this institutional fragility, civil society
organizations have emerged as fundamental actors
in the policy-making process.
