DESCRIPTION:The humanitarian aid industry is facing
unprecedented challenges. Jessica Alexander,
Adjunct Professor at NYU Wagner and author of
Chasing Chaos: My Decade In and Out of
Humanitarian Aid has worked as an aid worker and
more recently as a consultant since the early
1990s. Her experience includes responding to the
1994 Rwandan Genocide, managing a refugee camp in
Darfur, collecting evidence for the Charles Taylor
trial in Sierra Leone, and managing aid response
to the Haiti Earthquake in 2010. More recently she
was worked as a consultant evaluating humanitarian
aid programs.
