Step 4: Register via Albert

After completing the matriculation process with Admissions, but before you can register for your specialization's First-Semester Course Plan (see Step 3), you must learn how to use Albert, NYU's student information system. This involves several critical steps:

  1. Activate your NetID using your University ID (N#). The instructions, as well as your University ID number, were included in your acceptance message from Admissions.
  2. Complete the Registrar's Albert "How To" Video to learn the technical steps of online registration. This video is a comprehensive training tool on how to register. You should watch the entire video before proceeding. You can also go back and re-watch specific sections at anytime.
  3. Familiarize yourself with Registering on Albert and the Albert Help pages on the NYU website, which include links to the Student Help Guides.

Once you have completed these steps, you will be prepared to register. You will be eligible to register at any time after the Enrollment Appointment time assigned to you under "Enrollment Dates" in your Student Center, and we encourage you to register as soon as you are eligible.

The act of registering generates related tuition charges for which you are financially responsible. You must review the NYU Policy on Financial Responsibilities once you have registered for classes.
