Sarah M. Kaufman Named as New NYU Rudin Center Director
Sarah M. Kaufman has been named the Director of the Rudin Center for Transportation Policy and Management, after serving as the Interim Director for the past year. She has also been a long-time Adjunct Professor of Planning, teaching Capstone and other courses. She researches, advocates for and teaches about cutting-edge technologies in transportation. Last year, Sarah led the team that published a heavily-cited after-action report on the Buffalo Blizzard. Most recently, Sarah was appointed to the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission's nine-member board of commissioners and was named to City & State's 2023 Transportation Power 100 list.
Sarah succeeds longtime Director and "New Yorkologist," Mitchell L. Moss, Henry Hart Rice Professor of Urban Policy & Planning.
Sarah is eager to expand the NYU Rudin Center's work on the intersections of transportation and technology, sustainability and equity.
