The Rudin Center draws on faculty and students from NYU's Wagner School of Public Service as well as visiting scholars and researchers from the transportation and information-based organizations.
Director
Sarah M. Kaufman is the Director of the NYU Rudin Center for Transportation and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Public Service, where she researches, advocates for, and educates about innovative transportation policy, planning, and technologies. Click here for full bio.
Senior Researcher
As Senior Researcher, Rawnak Zaman supports research, operations, and programming at the NYU Rudin Center for Transportation. Ranna trained as an urban planner and has over 10 years of experience in the civic space, engaging in the operations of cultural institutions as well as policy research and advocacy centered around livability. Prior to the Rudin Center she worked at the Municipal Art Society of New York, where she contributed to research into land use reform, public space accessibility, and mobility and climate resiliency challenges along major roadways in disadvantaged communities. Ranna previously organized with community members to push for the formalization of a residential open street as permanent open space in her neighborhood of Jackson Heights, Queens and is studying the application of New York City’s solidarity economy ecosystem in expanding food justice through the CUNY School of Labor & Urban Studies. Ranna is a certified planner with a M.S. in Urban Planning from Columbia University and a B.A. in Economics and Environmental Studies from NYU College of Arts and Science.
