How did being in New York impact your professional journey?

Being in New York has really driven my professional journey. I have had the opportunity to work with incredibly talented public servants on bold and innovative projects that improve the lives of the people living in my favorite city.  The skills I learned, perspectives I gained, and relationships I made are now allowing me to have a national impact.

How would you describe your experience as a Wagner student?

Wagner provided me with a well-rounded education that was very relevant to my work in city government. I greatly appreciated the school's culture that allowed me to balance school, work, and home life. I went through several transitions while at Wagner, including taking a semester off to work on a Mayor's task force to respond to Hurricane Sandy, and having a baby a week before my last semester started; Wagner was supportive throughout each phase.

How did your Wagner experience prepare you professionally for what you are doing today?

Wagner's leadership courses helped me to understand my strengths and weaknesses. I now very regularly think about how I can maximize that which comes naturally to me and how I can improve on the areas that are less innate.
