Please note that awarded funds do not rollover from year to year. These funds are to be used within the academic year they are awarded, and any remaining balances will not carry over.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, certain expenses are not permitted. You may view the COVID Expense Policy to identify permissible expenses.
The current fringe rate is now 30.5%. This will need to be factored within requested award amounts used for student employees.
Research collaborations on new or existing research projects with Wagner master's-level students are encouraged. Projects will be funded for to up to 150 hours of student work each. The end product is a draft research paper intended for journal submission (in lieu of a post-award report) submitted via the Academic Affairs Portal no later than September 15.
Eligibility: tenured, tenure-track, and full-time clinical faculty.
Application: Summary of project and student contribution: 1 paragraph on each
Application Deadlines: September 16 for Fall and Full Year proposals; December 2 for Spring.
Note: If you are interested in working with a student for the entire year, please apply for both semesters by the September 16 deadline (select the “Full Year” option under "Time Period" below). In this case, hours must be distributed evenly over the year. Students may work up to 75 hours each semester, but cannot exceed 75 hours in either semester. For example, 75 hours in Fall and 75 hours in Spring is allowable, but 100 hours in Fall and 50 in Spring is not.

Please note that if Wagner master's-level student research assistance is a component of your proposed project, you must also apply for a Student Collaborative Research Grant for up to 150 hours of assistance. New Research Support grants will not fund research assistance.
Grants of $5,000-$7,500 to fund a new research project (defined as producing at least one paper not on last year's annual report) are available. Grants can fund attendance at one major conference and other research-related expenses. A maximum of $750 for software and computer resources can be proposed. The term of the grants will be September 1 – August 31. The end product is an end of award report (including at least one paper draft) submitted via the Academic Affairs Portal no later than September 15.
Eligi1bility: tenured and tenure track faculty. Preference will be given to proposals from assistant professors as well as proposals to use these awards as seeds for larger grants.
Application: Three- to five-page proposals including budget.

Grants of $2,000 are available to support application for any grant larger than $100,000. Any related expense (inclusive of travel) is appropriate.
Eligibility: tenured, tenure-track, and full-time clinical faculty serving as principal investigator on the proposed grant.

Grants of up to $1,000 are available for research proposals that do not easily fit into the above categories. Funds may be used for software and/or equipment.
Eligibility: tenured and tenure track faculty.
Application: Two-page proposal.
Grants of $2,000 are available to support new research on equity, diversity, and inclustion. Any related expense (except software and/or equipment) is appropriate.
