New Faculty: Getting Started

NYU Global Home

By now you should have an active NYU netID. An important next step is to view NYU's Global Home, the main web portal where you can access your email; your online class sites; and academic, work, and university life services. Be sure to edit your profile in NYU Global Home.

Your NYU Card

Obtain your NYU Photo ID at the NYUCard Center.

NYU Box

NYU Box is a cloud-based service for file storage, sharing, and document collaboration. Once you've set up your NYU NetID and email account, you can automatically access NYU Box.

 NYU Faculty Handbook

Review general information about NYU and policies and practices specific to faculty.

Onboarding Overview and New Faculty Orientation

Wagner's human resources, technology, and academic programs teams will contact you via email. Each team will help you prepare for starting at Wagner. If you have any questions and do not know who to contact, please email wagner.facultysupport@nyu.edu.

Faculty Calendar

The Wagner Faculty Google calendar includes full-time faculty meetings (held once per month), job talks, the Wagner Seminar Series, and important school events. Additional dates will be added over the year. It's best to overlay with your personal Google calendar so you keep key dates in mind as you manage your calendar. The dean's office will add you to the Faculty Calendar later this summer.

Your Office

You will be assigned an office at Wagner on the third floor of 105 East 17th Street. Our facilities team will contact you with your office location and will coordinate with you to get your keys. If you have any questions, please contact wagner.facilities@nyu.edu.

Technology

Please review the standard computer configurations available to faculty, and email wagner.pcsupport@nyu.edu with the option you prefer.  You may also contact us to arrange consultations on research services available at central NYU IT.

Editing Your Wagner Webpage

To update your faculty webpage and profile, login to NYU Home, visit the faculty/staff portal of the Wagner website. In the left "Resources" column, click on "Edit Your Profile" and then you may edit and update your webpage content. If you have technical questions about your webpage, email wagner.webteam@nyu.edu

New Student Retreat

You are strongly encouraged to attend Wagner's New Student Retreat. It's a terrific way to learn how Wagner welcomes and orients the incoming class. At the Retreat, new students begin to build a diverse and multidimensional community and develop the academic, professional, and reflective skills that are critical to their success at Wagner and beyond.

You’ll receive more information about the January and August New Student Retreat from our Associate Dean of Student Affairs.
