Scholars and researchers at Leadership in Action at Wagner collaborate with leaders in public service, nonprofits, community organizations, foundations, and public agencies in designing and facilitating one-of-a-kind leadership development and capacity-building programs. Such programs can range from daylong staff workshops and team learning to ongoing work with leaders in specific fields.
We focus on developing new approaches to improve and support individuals and organizations looking to integrate effective leadership practices into their work. These approaches enable individuals to take up leadership as a collective endeavor in their organizations and lead to original and actionable solutions.
Rather than rely on one single model for leadership development, these development initiatives and programs draw on multiple traditions of leadership and management theory and pair it with the expertise and experience of people who make change happen every day.
