NYU Wagner alumna Jennifer Jones Austin (MS 1997) received the 2016 Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award from NYU at an inspiring ceremony Feb. 4.

“This award is a big deal to me, as an NYU Wagner alum,” and as the child of a civil rights activist, she said in a beautiful speech (go to 26:40 on the livestream video to watch it) as she accepted the award.

  Following a nationwide search, the New York State Health Foundation (NYSHealth) Board of Directors unanimously selected David Sandman, Ph.D., as the Foundation's next President and CEO. Dr. Sandman has been the Foundation's Senior Vice President since 2008, after serving as Executive Director of the Commission on Health Care

NYU Wagner alumnus Jason Franklin (PhD, 2014) has been named to The Chronicle of Philanthropy’s “40 under 40” honor roll of innovators at the intersection of philanthropy and public service. Franklin, whose doctoral work at the Wagner school explored issues of public administration, currently serves as W.K. Kellogg Community Philanthropy Chair at the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State

Paulette Goddard Professor of Public Service Paul Light of NYU Wagner released on December 11 an issue paper he wrote on the “cascade” of Federal government breakdowns and what can be done about it. He appeared with former Federal Reserve Board Chairman Paul Volcker at the National Press Club to discuss the main points and build the case for pattern-breaking reforms.
