FINANCIAL AID

Scholarships

The Wagner School Financial Aid Committee evaluates and awards scholarships to full- and part-time students demonstrating academic achievement and leadership potential.

All scholarships are for two semesters only. Fall start students will receive funding for one academic year while spring start students receive funding for spring and following fall semesters. Recipients must reapply for scholarship consideration. Scholarship recipients are expected to excel in their academic and professional development. In keeping with these expectations, students who apply for scholarship as continuing students, must maintain a GPA at or above the Wagner school average (currently 3.5); demonstrate progress toward career goals, and demonstrate continuing commitment to public service.

All NYU Wagner scholarships are merit-based. Awards are made to outstanding applicants and continuing students who show exceptional professional promise, strong academic preparation, and a deep commitment to public service. Unless otherwise noted:

  • Scholarships are available to both domestic and international applicants.
  • Scholarships are available to full-time and part-time applicants.
  • Applicants can qualify for scholarship consideration by submitting an application for admission to NYU Wagner by the scholarship deadline of January 15 for fall start students and October 1 for spring start students and checking the box asking to be considered for scholarship.

Deadline
Unless otherwise noted under the scholarship descriptions detailed below, applications must be submitted prior to January 15th for the fall and summer, and October 1st for the spring. Scholarships for the spring semester are not guaranteed.

The following briefly describes available School scholarships:

Graduate and Research Assistantships:
NYU Wagner offers 100% tuition remission plus a stipend to a select group of full-time students who work as assistants to faculty and administrators.

  • Graduate Assistantships. The School offers graduate assistantships that provide a stipend for the academic year and full tuition remission to incoming fall-start students. Assistants are assigned to the School's institutional programs for administrative duties and work approximately 20 hours/week for the University.
  • Research Assistantships. Each year, approximately 10 to 15 students are selected to serve as research assistants in connection with faculty research projects. Assistantships provide a stipend and full tuition remission. Because the projects are diverse and some are administered outside the University, responsibilities, qualifications, stipends, and tuition assistance may vary. Many faculty members hire continuing students as assistants as well.
